THR is reporting THE HANGOVER's Ken Jeong is attached to star in a new comedy for Summit Entertainment called INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT, and Steve Carell is in talks to produce the film through his Carousel Productions. The film is based on a pitch from Carousel creative executives Charlie Hartsock and Vance Degeneres, and former Daily Show head writer David Javerbaum.

INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT will follow "five delegates from the United Nations who embark on a road trip to find one of their lost loves," and David Javerbaum will also write the screenplay.

I like Ken Jeong, but only in small doses, so I'm not sure how I feel about INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT. It could end up being a solid comedy, however a lot is going to depend on how the story plays out, and who else is cast in the planned film.

Ken Jeong can be seen heard next in Dreamworks' PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR on November 26, 2014, and Steve Carell has two movies out later this year: ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY on October 10, 2014, and FOXCATCHER on November 14, 2014.

Extra Tidbit: If Ken Jeong is playing one of the delegates, who would you like to see play the other four?

His shtick can be truly annoying but I think there's a solid dramatic performance somewhere in there.

The guy is extremely funny, but in small doses. That's when he's most effective. And he was easily one of the best parts about Community.

Ken Jeong can be pretty funny. I find he's best when he plays "himself" as characters. When he plays "character" characters he can only be tolerated in small doses (i.e. Hangover and Community before they made him a regular cast member). So if he's going to playing one of many main characters in this, and if they have him playing just a regular character, I think he could be great.

I'm a fan. Sure, he's been WAY overused as the comic relief in movies, but I still think back to Knocked Up, where he basically played himself, and stole his scenes.

The casting for this could hinge on whether the five are supposed to be from the five permanent members of the United Nations, or just an international (or at least multi-ethnic) cast.

They said delegates from the United Nations so I presume the cast needs to be quite international. Aside from Ken Jeong and Steve Carrell (I assume he might star as well), I want to see Richard Ayoade, Mireille Einos (I hope I spell her name right) and Fred Armisen of SNL.
