Kevin Feige tells us which Avengers are assembling

I’ve been saying for a while now that orchestrating THE AVENGERS movie is going to be a nearly impossible task, and even with the film coming together, I still maintain that to be true. One of the men directly responsible for this feat is Kevin Feige, who recently talked to SFX Magazine about the upcoming film, and who the main players are for sure.

“…it’s three people, four including Hulk , five including Nick Fury – who you have seen before in other movies, coming together for the very first time.”

The other three of course being Thor, Captain American and Iron Man. This does confirm however that Bruce Banner will make an appearance, though whether than means Ed Norton is unclear as of yet. Lord knows they’ll probably try to reboot Hulk another time before this thing comes out. And hooray, we’re getting Samuel L, I guess. I don’t think this rules OUT other Avengers like Hawkeye, Ant-Man and The Wasp, but just that they won’t be getting their own features.

Feige also talks about Thor, and how exactly a Norse god fits into this somewhat scientific and logical universe.

“We’re doing the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby/Walt Simonson/J Michael Straczynski Thor. We’re not doing the blow the dust of the old Norse book in your library Thor. And in the Thor of the Marvel universe there’s a race called The Asgardians, and we’re linked through this tree of life that we’re unaware of. Its real science, but we don’t know about it yet. The Thor movie is about teaching people that.”

Asgardians? Tree of Life? Sure, whatever, just make it non-religious so it fits. I don’t know, I just have a bad feeling about this amalgam of superheroes all crammed into one film…
