Kirsten Dunst and George Clooney come together for a dark AMC comedy

If you’ve enjoyed Kirsten Dunst as Peggy Blumquist on FX’s Fargo, you’ll be quite please to hear that the once-a-child-vampire actress is slated to star in the dark comedy ON BECOMING A GOD IN CENTRAL FLORIDA.

Executively produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov, Dunst will take on the role of Krystal Gill in a harsh comedy about the cult of free enterprise and one woman’s relentless pursuit of the American dream in the early '90s. Described as a minimum-wage Orlando water park employee who is recently widowed and left with nothing, Krystal will lie, scheme, and con her way up the ranks of Founders American Merchandise – the cult-like, flag-waving, multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme that made her life hell in the first place.

The project will be directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, whose work on THE LOBSTER garned him quite the bit of praise from several of our Joblo reviewers, readers, and staff.

Details about the release of this project are scarce, but with this kind of star-power attached, I have a feeling we’ll be hearing plenty about this undertaking in due time.
