Mila Kunis’ star continues to rise. After charming us this summer in FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, and dipping her pretty little feet into the action pool with the forgettable MAX PAYNE, she was well on her way to becoming a bonafied leading lady. With her casting opposite uber A-lister Denzel Washington in the upcoming THE BOOK OF ELI, she may have finally arrived.
The film follows big, bad Denzel as Eli, a lone hero who must fight his way across the wasteland of a near-future America to protect a sacred book that might hold the key to saving the future of humanity. Sounds nutty. Kunis will play Solara, a woman originally sent to betray Eli, but one who eventually joins his quest. The Hughes Brothers are directing.
