Brie Larson is suited up and studying hard for Captain Marvel in Twitter pic

08.08.2016

You know how you get the Carnegie Hall, don’t ya? Practice.

I don’t remember where that phrase came from, but it’s a thing I swear. I know it’s a thing, you now know it’s a thing and Brie Larson knows it’s a thing. Not only does she know, but as an Oscar-winning actress she fully embraces it, as evidence in her Twitter post that shows her preparing for her role as Captain Marvel.

No, she’s not trying to fly or punch multiple holes in multiple walls. But she is dressed in what looks like CAPTAIN MARVEL-themed jammies while reading a CAPTAIN MARVEL comic book.

Don’t believe me? Look for yourself!

We all know actors go through a lot of prep work for their roles, but wouldn’t it be nice if all acting research looked this cozy? I would totally try and be an actor if I knew prepping to play Ben Franklin meant being comfortable and reading a few biographies, instead of waiting to be electrocuted while holding a kite to "feel what he felt". In all seriousness, it’s nice to actually see Larson taking the role seriously and doing all the research she can on the character. See, I knew she was the perfect choice. On top of that, I think she’s proving Daniel Day-Lewis has been doing way more work than necessary for his roles than he’s had to all these years.

We will see if all her studying pays off when CAPTAIN MARVEL hits theatres March 8, 2019.

Really surprised by the unanimously negative comments below, but whatever, Larson was my dream choice for the role and I am stoked to see her in the role. Think I'm cray? Guess what, I hated Suicide, too. Bite me.

I guess people were swept up in the SDCC excitement when they announced her casting, cause the hate below doesn't match up to people's first reactions. I'm still excited for her to take this on.

Agree that everyone has to start somewhere. Look at Emily Blunt's history before she did Edge of Tomorrow. I'd seen most of her movies and could not picture her doing action at all. I was so wrong.

Not a fan of hers

She isn't that great of an actress, Room was really bland and she kinda sucked in it. The kid out acted her in every scene. I wish they got someone better for the role. This is the first miscasts role for Marvel. It could ruin the movie.

She sucked in Room? What? With the emotional turmoil her character had to deal with on a daily basis, while trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy for her little boy, that would be a really hard role to play. She was brilliant. She was able to convey to me the torture and heartache she was feeling for her child and herself with body language and just a look in her eyes.

Still not excited about her being cast as Captain Marvel. I feel like Marvel could have done a much better job with the character by getting Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Rebecca Ferguson, Kathryn Winnick, etc

I say the biggest plus is that unlike all those you mentioned (besides Chastain) she's at least American.
