Leaked Guardians of the Galaxy casting sheet calls for mutants, monks, and aliens in a “future, alternate dimension”

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Production on GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is ramping up. Despite director James Gunn refusing to confirm the casting of Dave Bautista or Zoe Saldana, the Marvel folks are actively looking for extras and supporting cast as filming gets closer to starting in England.

In a casting sheet obtained by the folks at Hey U Guys, the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY crew is looking for a very diverse group of people to fill parts in the movie. The full detailed sheet will be listed below, but take a look at the characters they are looking to film. Not being incredibly well versed in the Guardians comics, I am a bit vague on what all of these mean, but this is sounding a lot more like GREEN LANTERN than IRON MAN. The characters are all of various planets and races which will make for an incredibly diverse universe, visually.

The film is described, according to the casting notice as a film about a team of super heroes who protect the Galaxy in the future of a different dimension.  The notice asks for people who are tall, short, bald, albino, as young as 20 and as old as 90, amputees, and actors with stunt experience.  The roles they are looking for need to be available for filming that begins this June and runs through September.

Interestingly, regarding the alternate dimension in the casting description, Screen Rant has noted that the Motorcycle Industry Association was contacted by someone associated with Marvel to provide bikes that would fit in scenes that take place in the year 2045. Does this mean that GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will introduce the concept of alternate universes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Could this be the manner in which we can introduce all kinds of disparate Marvel properties to the big screen? The mind boggles at the possibilities.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is scheduled to open on August 1, 2014.
