Leatherheads standee

This is the first time Iíve heard the word standee, meaning Iím not the movie marketing powerhouse I thought I was. If you donít know what a standee is either, all you need is to take one look below and youíll have all of your notions of the universeís inner-workings obliterated. You'll recognize it instantly if you're of the theatre-going variety. The standee in question is for the latest George Clooney directorial effort, the historical football comedy LEATHERHEADS. The film stars Clooney as the owner of a failing professional football team in the 1920ís. In an effort to save his team and his ass, he persuades college football star and war hero Carter Rutherford (THE OFFICEís John Krakinski) to join the team. Renee Zellweger (who is looking a lot like Cate Blanchett here) plays a reporter who gets in the way of both men. You can click on the standee to see larger version of the standee. LEATHERHEADS will be released three days after April Fool's.

Extra Tidbit: I do not recognize a single other name in this film's cast, which is strange for a Clooney flick.

You mean besides Jonathan Pryce and Stephen Root?

By the way, trailer's up on Yahoo! and it's pretty damn funny, in a Preston Sturges kinda way.
