Ledger talks Jokes (again)

Yeah I know, how much can Heath Ledger talk about his take on The Joker? But if you’re like me, than anything on THE DARK KNIGHT is major news. Unfortunately, being where I am, I don’t get to see the video (come on, MTV!), but it would take a bitter, bitter man not to forward the thing on to you guys. So go over to the MTV Movies Blog to check it out. In the interview, Ledger talks about his inspirations for the role: … “A Clockwork Orange” was a very early starting point for Christian and I. But we kind of flew far away from that pretty quickly and into another world altogether. And Sid Vicious, yeah, I guess so. There’s a bit of everything in him. There’s nothing that consistent. It was an exhausting process. I actually had quite a bit of time off between scenes — weeks sometimes. But it was required because whenever I was working, it exhausted me to the bone. At the end of the day, I couldn’t move. I couldn’t talk. I was absolutely wrecked. If I had to do that every day, I couldn’t have done what I did. The schedule really permitted me to exhaust myself. “

I love how every interview that he does nowadays, while supposedly discussing I’M NOT THERE, just turns into a a search for more information on THE DARK KNIGHT. Jesus could ride by on a bicycle with P. Diddy on his lap, but as soon as Ledger walked into the room, whoever was there would still be all “Oh look, it’s JC, so tell me about your Joker diary!!!!“.
