LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures animated series coming to Disney XD

Disney is wasting no time in expanding the STAR WARS Galaxy as quickly as they possibly can. Following in the successful footsteps of their STAR WARS REBELS series, Disney XD will be adding another show to their programming line-up this summer as LEGO STAR WARS: THE FREEMAKER ADVENTURES enters into the canon.

Set between THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI, THE FREEMAKER ADVENTURES will introduce new characters, both good and bad, as they cross paths with some familiar faces through this set of new stories.

The series stars the Freemakers, a family of scavengers who build and sell starships from the scoured debris of space battles strewn throughout the galaxy. When their youngest discovers a natural connection with the Force through an ancient artifact — the Kyber Saber — his world is turned upside down, and he and his family are thrown into an epic struggle against the Empire to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy. Throughout their adventures, the Freemakers explore new worlds, meet new and familiar characters, and learn the true value of what it means to be a family.

There seems to be an awful lot of characters with Force connections these days after it appeared Luke Skywalker was the only one for quite some time. I guess we've barely scratched the surface of this universe, both past, present and future as to what might be out there in various corners of the STAR WARS Galaxy that we never really knew about before.

And for those who may be skeptical of the new show, it will have that LEGO flavor, which usually means a clever style of humor mixed in with the action that makes it surprisingly entertaining for all ages who watch.
