Based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) and starring Emmy and Tony Award winner Neil Patrick Harris, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans - Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance.

The eight-episode series also stars Patrick Warburton, Joan Cusack, Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes. I know the film definitely has its fans, and the book series more so, and it looks like Netflix is going to do everyone right with this series. I mean, at this point, are you willing NOT to try any show preceded by the words "Netflix original series"? I didn't think so! Now we wait 3 months!

The series premieres January 13, 2017 only on Netflix.

I haven't read the books, I only saw the 2004 film and I LOVED that one! The direction, the visuals, the mood, Thomas Newman's mysterious music were all fantastic! I'm curious about this mini-series version.

A Netflix Series of Unfortunate Events...

The JC movie sucked, but I was already too old at that point to care about kids books and kids movies.

Loved the film

As far as I remember the film followed the first 3 books of the series.
I wonder if the whole season will be about ONE book or if EACH episode will about one book.

It might be over say four books. I think there is 13 books all in so something like that would work.
