Lemony Snicket’s a Series of Unfortunate Events unleashes new trailer

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

So a new trailer has just been released for Netflix's reboot of LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, based on the popular young adult book series of the same name. This time Neil Patrick Harris will be donning the bald cap and epic sideburns of Count Olaf (taking over from Jim Carrey, who portrayed Olaf previously in the 2004 feature film dud), with Patrick Warburton as the eponymous Lemony Snicket.

Well, anyway, let's see what the new footage has to offer:

I mean, it looks suitably dark, fun, and stylish (though, honestly, not too dissimilar to the 2004 film). And, hey, at least Neil Patrick Harris seems to be killing it as always, though is anyone surprised at this point? Hell, as a huge fan of THE TICK, I'm also just glad to see Patrick Warburton getting some more live-action work (still waiting for that new VENTURE BROS. season though…)

As for me, I honestly don't see the point of this reboot. Although, to be fair, since it is ostensibly a TV series and not a film, it can at least cover more plot from the novels. So, as fans of the books, are you excited for the new Netflix show? Either way, sound off below!

LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS will stream on Netflix January 13th, 2017.
