Empire sat down with Louis Leterrier, the director of THE INCREDIBLE HULK and got him to dish on that trailer, which we all found so intriguing yesterday. Personally, while watching it I was thinking wow, I really don't need one of the action beats to be him running through Brazil in a red hoodie, and then thinking yeah, they're showing us way too much. But then I remembered that it was Edward Norton and that he was awesome, and I told my inner-monologue to shut up.

Leterrier gives us a pretty interesting explanation of the major scenes from the trailer, which you can find HERE. Among the highlights are his description of the badass final scene: "This sequence [Hulk vs. Abomination] is toward the end of the movie. But our final scene, our final battle – unlike a normal movie where the final fight scene is six minutes long, ours is 26 minutes long! So you get 26 minutes of two monsters pummelling each other through New York City, jumping up and down, ripping helicopters from the sky and stuff." And also, his explanation of why the advertisements have taken so long to get here: "Liv Tyler totally had a crush on James from JoBlo.com. When he spurned her advances she forbid we release the trailer on time. She would just sit in her make-up room listening to Michael Learns To Rock and making us promise not to release it."

dammit
26 minutes of overly used CGI heavy scenes of cars blowing up and buildings breaking.. when it all looks like it was the middle of an xbox 360 game.

Perhaps fanboys everywhere will learn that it isn't necessarily a good thing to finally get what they wanted. Remember how all the fanboys thought it would be cool to have Aliens and Predators duke it out in a movie? Well it wasn't. Twice. Perhaps an Alien vs. Predator movie that will satisfy everyone is yet to be made. And I suspect the same will be said of the Hulk. I wonder if the...

Perhaps an Alien vs. Predator movie that will satisfy everyone is yet to be made. And I suspect the same will be said of the Hulk. I wonder if the third Punisher movie will have broad appeal. I doubt it. It seems you can rarely satisfy everyone. 26 minutes of the Hulk fighting the Abomination is just a bad idea.

26 minutes? Holy crap. I'm not entirely sure I have the attention span for that, especially given that it will be a CGI green thing and ...not really, well, Ed Norton.

Still: frickin' excited.

Cooooo
I doubt it will end up being 26 minutes long. It will probably be cut with other shit, kind of like how everyone thought the Obi/Ani Duel in ROTS was supposed to be 12 minutes long, but it wasn't because it was cut with different scenes.

26 minutes?

That will either be unbelievably cool or a 26-minute-too-long action scene.

gawwwd what an idiot
26 minutes of action doesn't equal a good movie. If something like Batman Begins has 26 minutes of non-stop action I'd be pissed. What kind of fight stays exciting for that long? CMON this is the 21st Century do you really think we have attention spans?

Also, I totally think they should have taken the realism approach with a larger person looking Hulked out, not a CGI beast.

26 Minutes!!! Holy Merlins Beard!!!
Damn, the only duke out I can think of that lasts longer than that is when Roddy Piper busted some ass in They Live. Oh yeah, and then there is that movie The Return of the King, but who has bothered to see that?!

It's hard for me to get excited about "two huge monsters battling for 26 minutes." Sorry, it makes me miss Ang Lee's version when I think of that. It's like they're trying way too hard to assure everyone that there's more action than the first one, and because of that, they're making it seem like that's all this movie has going for it.

I do want to see it in hopes of finding a good story in there somewhere, but I'm not going to get excited about a 2 hour "Hulk smash" fest, blockbuster movie or not.

26 minutes
I'm not a Hulk fan at all but 26 minutes of non stop action is interesting...And also possibly a bad idea at the same time. But this might be an okay movie after all...maybe.
