Liev Schreiber, Naomi Watts and Christina Hendricks get in the boxing ring for The Bleeder
Liev Schreiber has been itching to tie on the boxing gloves, and with THE FIGHTER proving to be a box office knockout, now he's getting his chance.
Schreiber will get his head smashed in THE BLEEDER, playing real-life boxer Chuck Wepner in a biopic the actor previously described as "just a remarkable, hilarious film."
Wepner (aka "The Bayonne Bleeder") is a New Jersey boxer best known for nearly going the distance in a 1975 fight with Muhammed Ali and later brawling in the ring with Andre the Giant (who chucked him out of it). The underdog was the inspiration for Stallone to make ROCKY (which also obviously bled into ROCKY III's clash with "Thunder Lips").
The movie will be directed by Jeff Feuerzeig (THE DEVIL AND DANIEL JOHNSTON), and Schreiber will be joined on screen by his IRL wife Naomi Watts and the unlimited cleavage of Christina Hendricks.
