The Wrap has learned that MIRROR MIRROR and THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES actress Lily Collins will star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton and Kelly Macdonald in OKJA, the upcoming monster flick from SNOWPIERCER director Bong Joon-ho. Lily has been cast in one of the lead roles as Red, an anarchist "who is the only female member of the higher-ranked ALF members."

Specific plot details are still being kept under wraps, but OKJA is reportedly the name of the creature in the movie, which will follow "a rural girl from Korea’s Gang-won Province who travels between Korea and the U.S." Unfortunately, the site also has some bad news involving OKJA. Apparently Bill Nighy has dropped out of the film, while it remains to be seen if Paul Dano will officially sign on for the project.

Netflix is co-producing the movie with Brad Pitt‘s Plan B Entertainment and Lewis Pictures, and Bong will be working with a larger budget (and more creative freedom) than he had for SNOWPIERCER. Filming for OKJA is expected to begin in the next few months in Korea and the U.S., and it may receive a theatrical release in the first half of 2017.
