Earlier this week, we got a tiny tease of Sam Smith's SPECTRE theme song "Writing's On The Wall," and now the full track has been released on Spotify. Smith tells NPR's Morning Edition that "I tried to put myself in the shoes of Bond," while co-writing the song with Jimmy Napes, and that "My music is a diary and it's a recap of my life, and I wanted to bring that kind of honesty. In the lyrics — 'How do I live, how do I breathe? / When you're not here I'm suffocating' — I wanted a touch of vulnerability from Bond, where you see into his heart a little bit."

So what's the verdict? Personally, I think it's just OK. Out of the theme songs for the Daniel Craig-led Bond films, I'd rank it third, above Alicia Keys and Jack White's "Another Way to Die" from QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but below Chris Cornell's CASINO ROYALE theme "You Know My Name" and Adele's "Skyfall." What are your thoughts on "Writing's On The Wall"? Do you think Sam Smith has a Best Original Song Oscar nomination in his future?

SPECTRE will be in theaters on November 6, 2015.
