Top 10 Comic Book Events of 2013

With the state of film being taken over by everything comic books, we thought it might be fun to take a look at some of the bigger events going on in a garden variety of books on the stands this past year. While we certainly can't cover every single awesome comic book out there in a Top Ten, we can highlight some of the events that helped shape some familiar (and unfamiliar) comic book universes in 2013. We've stuck to mostly mainstream books and characters, as we realize not all readers of the site are uber comic nerds like some of us, so don't get all huffy and start yelling at us for not including X and Y titles. We get it. There's a lot of great stuff out there, so let's just kick back and get caught up on a few of the cool, crazy, and shocking comic book events of the year, many of which you could very well be seeing on the big screen at some point at the rate we're going. Also, feel free to submit your own list as well, as we'd love to hear what everyone else is reading these days!

Also, please note that there are heavy SPOILERS herein. Be warned.

Locke and Key

The end of Locke and Key tops my list of biggest comic book events in 2013. Six years of an amazing storyline came to a close and it was fantastic the whole way through. I was sad to see it omitted. I thought it would be considered mainstream since Saga was, as well.

Nice list!

Keep hearing about Saga, will check that out. Glad to see comics (the source for most blockbusters nowadays) getting some attention on the site.
