My good friend Bart-Rene was at the Cinema Expo in Amsterdam recently, and he took a bunch of pictures of the posters that were being debuted over there. You can check 'em out by clicking BELOW for the full gallery. Although if you have any affinity for dragons, probably don't bother because the one we're seeing in the poster for HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON is pretty weak. They should have gotten me to draw it. I draw an awesome freehand dragon.

On first glance, I actually thought DiCaprio looked more like Val Kilmer before he got all bloated of course. Can't believe another Shrek movie is in the works and that Iron Man 2 poster is terribly uninspired.

Someone apparently was fucking around too much on the iron man 2 poster deadline and decided to slap a big fat 2 on it, collect the check and call it a day. lol.

The first teaser poster of Shutter Island was freaking awesome..what's with all the red bullshit? does Leo have a sunburn?



I still hate Shrek.

I def. agree that the teaser poster for Iron Man 2 is horrible and The Lovely Bones poster isn't great either.



On the plus side, the posters for Ninja Assassin and Where the Wild Things Are look awesome.



As for the rest...meh.

And while a similar aesthetic worked for "Bringing Out the Dead," I think they oughta make the poster some sort of retro film noir look. I swear the trailer's got me feeling all nostalgic, not because it's like the old '50s trailers, but just the way everyone's got an accent, and knows their business like all those old...

I agree the Shutter Island is too simple. There are a few big posters in there, Shrek Forever After, Iron man 2, The Lovely Bones which I can't wait for.



I really like The Johnny Depp Mad Hatter poster, the District 9 poster, and the Up in the Air poster.
