Luc Besson returns to epic sci-fi with the first trailer for Valerian

Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner – blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him. Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Writer/director Luc Besson has returned to epic sci-fi with his trailer for VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS!

I know I'm in the minority when I say I'm not the biggest fan of THE FIFTH ELEMENT, but there's no denying its style. I wasn't sure what to expect after seeing all of the set-pics of VALERIAN thus far, but I'm happy to see that there's at least going to be some serious eye-candy going on here! There's very few movies I deem necessary to check out in 3D, but VALERIAN is definitely one of them. Here's hoping the story and characters can measure up!
