Lucas Till will return as Havok in X-Men: Apocalypse

We're going to have quite the mutant-palooza with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE; director Bryan Singer has added yet another familiar mutant to the film's growing cast. Singer used Instagram to announce the return of Lucas Till for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Till has played the mutant Havok in both X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.

I'm a little surprised Singer even bothered to put Lucas Till in DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, he didn't have all that much to do in his limited screen-time; perhaps those of you who are more comic-literate than I can fill me in on whether he has a bigger part to play in the Apocalypse storyline. Truth be told, neither the character nor the actor particularly did anything for me so this news isn't as exciting to me as it may be to some. Anyone out there glad Havok will be putting in an appearance?

It feels as though we've had lots of X-MEN: APOCALYPSE casting news this past month; Olivia Munn joining the cast as Psylocke, Lana Condor as Jubilee, as well as the confirmation of Ben Hardy stepping into the wings of Angel.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE has yet to begin filming but the movie is set for a May 26, 2016 release.

I'm not sure how much of a connection Havok really has with Apocalypse in the comics. It's not much of one, if I recall correctly. But with the casting of Scott Summers in this film too, I'm more curious about their sibling relationship and how it will be explored.

I rather have someone new taking over the xmen series. Someone who understand the source material and not a movie with characters thrown in just for show. If Havok is in this movie, give him something to actually do. Same with other announced characters. It's nice to see fan favorites, but if it's only for a minute and the character can be interchangeable with a non existing character, then what's the point. Also want to see that mystique and nightcrawler are related, same with Scott and Alex.

I'm just bitching cause I want to see a faithful as possible version of the men, not some movie where the same characters take center stage.

Thought one of the lamer things about DOFP is that all those characters from First Class are killed offscreen. A montage where they're captured/subjected to Trask's tortures would've balanced well against the scenes where the future characters fall in battle against the Sentinels.

While I really liked DoFP, it very much felt like there was a whole bunch of interesting stuff that happened that we missed out on. Id like to have seen a few more stories following on from First Class, rather than the "they're all dead" approach we got.

Feels like opportunities missed.

just my thoughts

It seems Havok will be Scott's father instead of his brother, in the XCU. So they just wanted us to know he wasn't one of Trask's victims. There for his scene in DoFP. I just hope they will, at least, keep Nightcrawler's origins by having him the son of Raven and Azazel. Maybe Havok will become one of Apocalypse's horsemen, explaining why Scott goes to Xavier for help, or something. NOW, let's just have confirmation Sinister is here as well... He NEEDS to be (but, then again, Rachel needed to

Anyone with knowledge of the comics knows that X-Men film continuity is completely FUBAR. With that said, they did a great retcon with DoFP. I've always been a really big fan of the story of the Summers' brothers. With them casting a very young 18yo ish Cyclops, the timeline doesn't quite pan out, but it's not the end of the world, I just hope they acknowledge some kind of relation between Alex and Scott. Something better than Quicksilver's one liner, ' my mom use to know a guy who could do

Well if this is the last of the First Class trilogy, then it only seems fitting.

Hell Yes.

Whether they stick to the comics continuity or not (Cyclops & Havok are brothers) this is pretty awesome news. I remember during casting announcement for "1st Class" back in 2010 & "Future Past", in 2012, that every fan was complaining about too many mutants, too many wasted roles. But, in my own opinion, I think Vaughn & Singer have triumphed over everything that Ratner did w/ "Last Stand".

now if only we fans could get a cinematic version of Mr. Sinister sometime before the X-Series
