Luke Cage is more brutal than ever in new trailer for season two

After saving New York with the Defenders, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) is back to keeping a watchful eye on Harlem. The citizens love him, and the criminals fear him, as they all should. But, as evidenced in the trailer for season two, Cage can be broken. A new threat has arrived to take over the city, and now Cage has to confront someone who seems to be his equal in terms of strength. Oh well, things can’t be too bad when you have Rosario Dawson and Simone Missick on your side, right?

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.

The trailer certainly features some gritty action and enough style to spare, which offers a bit of a contrast to the slow burn that was the second season of JESSICA JONES. The first season of CAGE broke Netflix after an absurd amount of people tried to watch it, and I have a feeling that will probably happen this time around. Also, can someone please get Misty Knight (Missick) a Winter Soldier-style metal arm to fight bad guys with?
