M. Night Shyamalan to Reincarnate with next Night Chronicles project

I'm very interested to see DEVIL this weekend (and THE TOWN and EASY A, God, how to find the time?), not because I think it looks all that interesting, but because I want to see how pervasive M. Night's badness is these days. If he didn't write or direct a movie, can it still be terrible if he's just involved by having thought of the plot?

It will certainly be an experiment that will effect the succsess of the rest of his "Night Chronicles" a movie trilogy that has Shyamalan's ideas interpreted and executed by other people. Not a bad plan if you ask me. I've always said the man is smart, but he CANNOT WRITE FOR SHIT.

We've heard him say that the third movie in the series will be the closest thing we'll get to an UNBREAKABLE sequel, whatever that means, but now we have details on the second film in the trilogy. From Deadline:

Media Rights Capital and M. Night Shyamalan have set the next thriller to be made under their Night Chronicles banner. The Last Exorcism's Daniel Stamm will direct Reincarnate, a thriller scripted by Chris Sparling, who wrote the upcoming Rodrigo Cortes-directed Ryan Reynolds-starrer Buried, and Paul Grellong. Production will begin in 2011, and MRC is producing with Shyamalan.

While deciding the fate of an accused murderer, a jury is haunted by supernatural forces that hold the key to the case.

Uhh, not sure about that plot description. 12 ANGRY MEN...with GHOSTS! Wooo! But maybe it's cooler in execution than it is in concept. I guess we'll have to see.

Extra Tidbit: THE HAPPENING was hilarious bad. THE LAST AIRBENDER was just sad bad.
