Virginia Madsen's career never took off quite the way many thought it would after her Oscar-nominated performance in SIDEWAYS, even though she's had some prime roles in films like THE NUMBER 23? THE HAUNTING IN CONNETICUT? Yikes. Hopefully the folks behind the upcoming indie comedy FATHER OF INVENTION will put her obvious talents to good use. The Trent Cooper-directed film stars Kevin Spacey as a once humble inventor who scores big and turns into an egomaniacal billionaire who loses it all when one of his inventions goes horribly wrong. After eight years in the pen he returns to find his ex-wife--played by Madsen--has spent his fortune and remarried. The supporting cast is solid too with Camilla Belle, Heather Graham and Craig Robinson also set to star.

Number 23 wasnt bad....
Virginia really did shit in that movie but it wasn't bad..i actually liked it.Haunting in Connecticut is another story. Hope she gets a role that might actually be beneficial to the film this time around.

btw...so the plot is what would happen if someone like Einstein fucked up with his experiments? Sounds kinda original even if the last part sounds like Castaway.
