Magorium trailer

Jan. 8, 2007by: Omar Aviles

Update: Hope you watched it, folks, cause it's been pulled from YouTube.

Below you'll find what looks like an unofficial trailer for Zach Helm's fantasy dramedy MR MAGORIUM'S WONDER EMPORIUM considering it's four and a half minutes long and basically gives away the entire film. The film stars Dustin Hoffman as the 243 year-old owner of the titular magical toy emporium who, after deciding to leave the store, bequeaths it to his manager (played by Natalie Portman). In no time, however, everything starts going absolutely batshit crazy and Portman's character finds herself not exactly prepared for the surprising rigors of managing a magic toy store. Jason Bateman co-stars as a mutant counter. See it only if you're prepared for some significant spoilage and if you do decide to check it out, do so now as it may be pulled from YouTube any second. The film opens November 16th.

Extra Tidbit: Zach Helm is engaged to "Lost" hottie Kiele Sanchez.

i know tons of idea overlaps happen, but a dial is just so close to that idea. they could have used a panel with buttons or something else at least

and yeah, i loved HMC a lot, my favorite of his is still mononoke though

you'd be surprise how often that happens in hollywood, I used to think they would have no overlaps of creative ideas. BTW, I loved Howl's Moving Castle.

Zach Helm is a genius

While it is disappointing that the marketing campaigns for both of Zach Helm's movies give too much away, I'm still going to line up for this one like I did Stranger Than Fiction. I was a little worried that Zach wasnt going to be able to pull off his directorial debut, but my fears have been allayed. This looks as whimsical and beautiful as the script.

Zenric: considering the door bit you're so upset about being plagiarized was in the original draft, written way before Howl's Moving Castle

wow

honestly, i've never seen such blatant plagiarism before in my life

if everyone will remember a certain movie called howl's moving castle, where when howl wanted to leave his house he could turn a giant dial next to his magical door and the location would change

i just got really pissed off when i saw that. am i the only one who noticed?
