Mark Ruffalo says Bruce Banner will get to do "great stuff" in The Avengers: Age of Ultron

One of the best things about THE AVENGERS in my opinion was Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk. I've always enjoyed the actor, and while I liked Eric Bana and Edward Norton's big screen versions of the character as well, Ruffalo's is my favorite. Scarlett Johansson recently described Joss Whedon's script for THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON as "dark and dry," and in an interview with MTV News, Ruffalo talked a little about the script for the upcoming film.

"I would say that it's better, it's cooler, it's more awesomer. It's a little bit darker, but also really has Joss Whedon's incredibly, witty and sly sense of humor."

Mark Ruffalo was also asked if there will be some fan-favorite moments in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, like how Hulk punches Thor towards the end of THE AVENGERS.

"[Bruce Banner] gets to do such great stuff."

I know it might be a little hard to get excited when the description is "great stuff," but I'm pretty pysched to see Mark Ruffalo as Banner and the Hulk again in THE AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON. We have no clue if and when Marvel might do another solo Hulk movie (although Mark Ruffalo is still interested in doing a standalone film), and the only times we've seen him as the character has been in THE AVENGERS and the post-credits scene in IRON MAN 3, and we won't see him again until the next film, or another cameo. Which is kind of a shame, since he did such an excellent job in THE AVENGERS. But if that means we get a bunch of great scenes featuring Bruce Banner/Hulk in the new movie, I have no problem with Marvel's current plans for the character.

THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will be in theaters on May 1st, 2015.

I'm upset that Marvel hasn't given Mark Ruffalo's Hulk a solo film, but then again, getting to see him in Age of Ultron makes me that much more excited for it. For AoU's tone, I can see it clearly. I can picture it being similar to Firefly, complete with a serious/bleak tone and hints of Whedon's comedy.

The Incredible Hulk and Banner were easily the best part about The Avengers and I'm hoping that in Age of Ultron, Banner, Captain America, and Hawkeye ALL get more to do this time around since I feel most of the screen time in the first Avengers film went to Iron Man, Thor, Loki, and Black Widow.

To do great things, I wonder if he'll be the one to take down Ultron.
