Mark Wahlberg gives some additional details on Seth MacFarlane's Teddy Bear

12.07.2010

Mark Wahlberg is a busy guy. This Friday THE FIGHTER comes out and as soon as 2011 rolls around he's working on Seth MacFarlane's TEDDY BEAR.

The directorial debut of MacFarlane tells the story of a guy who rooms with his best friend that also happens to be a teddy bear. The bear isn't sweet and cuddly. He's actually a massive immature slacker that is holding his human friend back in life. We actually have a decent synopsis of the film, but Wahlberg provided a few more details on the teddy adventure.

Wahlberg is overcome with joy when he thinks of his upcoming project, "I'm getting to go do a comedy and the beginning of this year with Seth MacFarlane -- his directorial debut. Dude, I'm so excited. It's just off-the-charts funny." Then the actor goes into the details he can divulge, "I don't know how much [Seth] wants me to tell. But it's about this kid who gets a bear for Christmas. And, you know, it's the '70s -- it's one of those Teddy Ruxpin-ish teddy bears where you squeeze it and it says, 'I love you!' The kid wishes and dreams that the bear would come alive -- and a Christmas wish must be granted -- and it does [come alive]."

There's no heart warming story here though. "Seth McFarlane's voicing the bear -- the bear is gonna look like a little teddy bear, but it's motion-capture. It's like 'Avatar.' It's never been done before. It's insane -- I mean, what the bear does... " The bear will be a bit lewd, but Wahlberg doesn't get into his antics, "The bear becomes famous, and that's my ticket to getting things and living a life of privilege."

Extra Tidbit: For those of you who actually enjoy FAMILY GUY, do you have a favorite episode?

The only thing MacFarlene is good for is American Dad.

This sounds funny and I am a fan of Seth as voice actor. It'll be interesting to see how he does it. And I think Mark Wahlberg is hilarious. He cracked me up in The Other Guys. I'm actually looking forward to this.

Oh come on...

At first, this seemed like McFarlane was copying an awesome webcomic called "Sam and Fuzzy" (check it out, it's awesome), but it could've been a coincidence.

But now, there's something extremely fishy. Wahlberg says that the bear becomes famous. That's EXACTLY what happens to Fuzzy in a storyline that just started Monday...

Again, it could be a coincidence, but it's becoming kinda strange...

What's that you say? Seth McFarlane making a joke/using an idea that someone else came up with? I refuse to believe that is at all possible.

A Fan

Teddy Bear looks like something that I might see. For the ET, a favorite episode is "Peter's Two Dads" because I am Irish-American. My entire family laughed very hard during that one (o' course we were drunk, boyos). An episode to admire is "Partial Terms of Endearment." MacFarlane showed balls by making that one. Of course, Matt Stone and Trey Parker display such guts week-after-week.

Love Family Guy episodes with big budgets like "And Then There Were Fewer." This movie sounds pretty fun for people who like Family Guy. Not a fan of Marky Mark lately though..

I used to hate Family Guy

then i started watching old episodes on Netflix and now i'm hooked. My favorite is either "Episode 420" with the "Bag O' Weed" musical or "Quagmire's Dad" when Brian utters the famous line after a long fist fight with Quagmire: "Hey...I f*cked your dad!"

...

I liked it better when it was called "Greg The Bunny", and had the GOOD Seth behind it.

Favorite Family Guy episodes (cause I can't just choose one) would have to be, Lethal Weapons, Road to Rhode Island, and Road to the Multiverse.

lmao. Apparently Seth MacFarlane is the new arbitrarily hated man, taking over for Zach Galifianakis who everyone hated for no reason.

I admit that Family Guy isn't nearly as funny as it used to be, and I haven't watched an episode in a couple years now, but that doesn't mean I think Seth MacFarlane is a "hack who hass no idea what comedy is". That's ridiculous. He created one of the most popular, and FUNNY cartoons of all time.

This sounds awesome. Wahlberg doing comedy can be a miss

Am I the only one that thinks of Spielbergs A.I. every time this movie is mentioned. Just a little Teddy Bear walking around, looking creepy. I also love how Avatar is now apparently the creator of mo-cap. Like it didn't exist before it or something.

I do like Seth, mostly for American Dad. Also Wahlberg can be really funny so I'm looking forward to a trailer or something.

Tidbit: I don't think there's really a favorite episode, it's usually just favorite one-liner or cutaway sequence.

P.S. The Cleveland Show is absolutely atrocious and the fact that it's still on the air while Arrested Development and Firefly are canceled shows just how fucked up the folks at FOX are.

Seth McFarlane is a hack who has no idea what comedy is. A bunch of cutaways and eighties references 5 percent of his fanbase understand and pretend is funny isn't comedy. This sounds really sucky. "Joe's Apartment" sucky.

This sounds awesome...

Mark Wahlberg does a great job when he gets to stretch his funny bones. This project sounds perfectas he's obviously going to be the straight man to the crazy bear.
Also, as far as Family Guy goes, I really liked both Petergeist and the Three Kings episodes. Very well done...hehehehehe, Propane.

Not a big fan of Seth

and even less of a fan of Family Guy and how it's become a hollow mockery of itself. But this could be entertaining.

"I don't how much Seth wants me to tell"...

So here's a big chunk of the plot.
