Marti Noxon to pen the adventures of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider

Angelina Jolie is out of this world good looking and a good actress to boot, but did she really do Lara Croft justice? I suppose that’s kind of a hard question. Before 2001 (and I’m sure this is debatable), there wasn’t much complexity to Lara. Then again, there haven’t been very many legitimately good video game movies.

MGM decided to give TOMB RAIDER another go on the big screen especially since a rather beautiful update in animation in 2012 (well, 2013 because of a delayed release) gave the game new life. A story is still being worked out but will follow, “archaeologist Lara Croft as she sets off on one of her international adventures.” There’s no one up to play the title role, however there is now a writer on the script.

Marti Noxon (FRIGHT NIGHT, I AM NUMBER 4) will be the one to pen Lara’s adventures. I know I listed some movies next to her name but Noxon is more well known for her writing on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. She did a good job with updating FRIGHT NIGHT. David Tennant was a big win for me. I wasn’t too keen on I AM NUMBER 4. She does great work with female characters so I have no doubt that this will be worth watching. Let’s just hope they get a good Lara.
