Marvel’s Runaways and Future Man get Season 2 renewals on Hulu

You can't see me right now, so you'll just have to trust me when I tell you that I'm doing a dance in my office. It mostly involves me shuffling my shoulders and bobbing my head side to side to the rhythm of "oh baby" by LCD Soundsystem. The reason for this impromptu dance party is that I am super excited to share that Hulu has confirmed that Marvel's RUNAWAYS has been granted a second season renewal! Additionally, Sony TV Studios' FUTURE MAN is also getting a sophomore season.

While our own Alex Maidy is puzzled by my enthusiasm for RUNAWAYS, I've found the adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona's teenagers versus parents drama to be a fantastic take on the source material, with the show having introduced themes that make the over-arching story richer and more compelling. The show tells the tale of six diverse teens who, by accident, discover that their parents are members of murderous science-based cult.

If you're here for the FUTURE MAN news, that show stars Josh Hutcherson as “Josh Futturman,” a janitor by day/gamer by night who is recruited by mysterious visitors to travel through time in order to prevent the extinction of humanity.

Whoa, what? I haven't ever heard about FUTURE MAN until now, but it sounds like something I could totally sink my teeth into.

RUNAWAYS will air its debut season finale on Tuesday via Hulu, with a second season effort to follow in the coming months.
