ABC has been plenty busy bringing Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter (as well as the upcoming Marvel's Most Wanted) to TV screens, but it looks like they'll be taking one yet another Marvel project. This time around it will be Cloak and Dagger for their young adult-themed channel, Freeform.

Cloak and Dagger will be a superhero love story following the titular duo - two teenagers who fall for each other while coming to grips with their own powers. Tyrone (Cloak) can create an aperture into the dimension of darkness used to teleport or to dispatch people while Tandy (Dagger) can create psionic "light daggers" which travel wherever she wills them. The two form a symbiotic relationship due to the fact that Cloak can feed off of Dagger's light, keeping his "hunger" at bay while also keeping her from becoming supercharged.

As of now, no writer has been attached, but it's destination on ABC's Freeform channel suggests that the show will be tailored for the young adult audience. I can't say that comic book TV shows have ever really captured my attention (outside of what Netflix has accomplished) but the premise here can be prove to be fruitful if done right.

Could work as a slightly different take on the superhero tv show genre. A central romance and co-dependency could offer a different perspective on this theme, an expansion of what was briefly touched upon with Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. TV for a young adult audience isn't always terrible - some of The 100 has actually been pretty brutal - but it's really all down to how the source material is handled. Can't say I've ever been that bothered by Cloak and Dagger when they've showed up in comics

I'll stay open minded until I have seen a reason not to be. I think Marvel deserves the benefit of the doubt at this point and they have held off from using these 2 characters for a long time so that gives me hope that they will want to do it correctly.

Freeform (a.k.a. ABC Family)

Well..fuck that. This show will be more "Pretty Little Liars" than "Agents of SHIELD". Every episode devoted to sexual tension & all their 2ndary characters gossiping about how they're bi-racial.

Keep Superheroes where they can be taken seriously. (ok, maybe not FOX)

They are incredibly interesting characters that could be the basis for an incredibly interesting series.... However, if it's being made for Freeform (previously known as ABC Family), I'm not going to get too excited for it. I doubted Arrow when it was being developed for the CW, so maybe this can be good.
