McG updates T4 | Movie News

After keeping relatively quiet since Comic-Con, McG is back talking about TERMINATOR SALVATION and has updated the official site with some thoughts now that he's knee-deep in post-production. McG reveals that he's shown stars Christian Bale and Sam Worthington an early cut of the film and that they "seem pleased" with what they saw. They weren't super excited but they did "seem pleased"...

As far as the Terminator FX go, McG reveals, "There's one sequence in particular where we're trying to achieve something that's never been done before. I don't want to talk about it because we haven't been successful yet..." Hey at least he's honest people! (Except for the point where he said he had James Cameron's' blessing when he clearly did not.)
McG rambles on a little bit about VFX supervisor Charlie Gibson (I don't think that's the same guy that hosts "Good Morning America") and editor Conrad Buff before ending with: "This is a story of two destinies colliding. Connor is part of a resistance comprised of the ethnicities that make up the globe. This film is so much more that just Los Angeles. It reflects the global crisis of man, all of man versus machine.

Plus, when they said they were "pleased", I think that is like saying, "Your movie looks like crap right now but we arent gonna tell you until we see final cut." So that kind of made me a little depressed.
I feel like the same thing is gonna happen for this as it did for Indy 4. Its gonna be mediocre, but it is...

i even hate it when "McG" flashes on the opening credits...it's embarrassing...and i think it looks like shit...credits role DIRECTED BY: McG on the friggin' terminator which was revolutionary and now just seems hyper dumb droll, visual flare.
which the originals had, but they...

which the originals had, but they also had that special certain magic...3 and this one will not, McG is not capable of bringing what the first 2 offered. he'll make a better version of 3, because of the cast...but this whole franchise's nut and bolts are loose. McG is not the man to tighten them up.

- Hopefully this means we won't see Connor in the future war posing with a US flag like in T3.

The moment McG said that Bale "seemed pleased" with the movie, Ari would be scrambling through the agency hallways as he tries to find Lloyd and beat McG over the head for saying something so stupid.
You don't advertise a big-budget Hollywood movie by saying that people "seemed pleased" with it.
