Jan. 28, 2002by: Mike Sampson

Academy Award winning screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie will write an English-language version of the 1999 Hong Kong action flick CHEUNG FO.  The Americanized version, referred to as THE MISSION, follows "on five professional bodyguards recruited to protect a mob leader from an unknown group of assassins." The script will focus on the five men and their unique code of honor and bond. McQuarrie is also working on scripts for an Alexander the Great biopic as well as a remake of the TV show THE PRISONER.  The director of the original film, Johnny To, will likely produce the new version.
