MGM to reboot Road House with Ronda Rousey

MMA fighter Ronda Rousey has appeared in a few movies over the past couple of years like EXPENDABLES 3, FURIOUS 7 and ENTOURAGE, but it looks like she’s about to take up her first leading role in a reboot of the Patrick Swayzee cult-classic ROAD HOUSE.

The original ROAD HOUSE featured Swayze as a bouncer hired to clean up one of the roughest and toughest bars this side of the Missouri, The Double Deuce. Corruption, roundhouse kicks and love against a brick wall made the flick what it is today: an awesomely cheesy and fun flick! It’s said that Rousey even approached Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi, to ask for her blessing, of which Niemi gladly gave.

Rousey has been an up-and-coming name for a while now, but recently made some serious waves with some highly-televised kick-assery regarding her 34 second bout with Bethe Correia. There’s no doubts that the woman has some serious fighting skills, so I hope she takes the time to beef up her acting because her bit part in FURIOUS 7 (see below) is nothing to write home about…or anywhere else, for that matter.

ROAD HOUSE, starring Ronda Rousey, will go into production in 2016.

The good news is that her acting can only get better from here!
