Strike Back below!

While at the Sony presentation at ShoWest, president Rory Bruer mentioned in his intro that they have a lot of interesting projects in the works for 2010 and 2011. Those included the previously announced SPIDER-MAN 4 and GHOSTBUSTERS 3 but then he said they're currently actively developing MEN IN BLACK 3. No other details were available as this wasn't a Q&A but it got a good gasp from the crowd. There had been rumors about a MEN IN BLACK 3 since last year when producer Walter Parkes mentioned that they'd like to get the gang back together. But hearing from Sony that they're actually developing the script is much more of a confirmation than we've ever had. Not sure we need a MEN IN BLACK 3 but considering Will Smith can take a movie like HANCOCK to well over $100 million, MIB3 would make a mint for Sony. What do you think? Would be excited at all if Smith and Tommy Lee Jones came back?

Could Make For A Nice Apology...
...for the trainwreck that was MIB2. Personally, I don't believe in throwing out a franchise because of 1 bad installment. Rocky V was disappointing, while Rocky VI was better than III. IV, and V combined. Alien 3 sucked balls, and while Alien: Ressurrection had it's problems, it was a much better film than the 3rd. So, I say, get the boys back together and give it a fair shot. Will Smith...

How are they going to pay Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith? Will Smith is still a $100 million man and Jones can still attract a crowd. Their statuses haven't taken a slight dip like the stars in some other movie whose subject is souped-up cars *cough* Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, et al. *cough*

A series I wouldnt mind a third of, as long as it ends the "trilogy"
There are worse films that are getting sequel's these days. I enjoyed the first, although the second was awful. Hopefully a third and hopefully final film in the series could end it on a high note.

I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority with this, but I thought Men In Black 2 was better than the first. So yeah, I'd be down for another one. Seriously, the second one had many more laughs than the first for me.

Not at all.
Another sequel to a mediocre sequel. Wow the studios are pathetic. I just know the Remake to "Gone w/the Wind" is somewhere close behind. Yuck.

Ehhh...
I can't tell if this is an additional April Fools joke or not... but while it's being discussed, yeah, this year's Batman joke was... well, this is the first time in 4 years they haven't got me. Maybe I'm just less gullible, or I was more aware of the date, but I'm always tricked, and then I have a good laugh. This year, neither. Sad.

You know, I loved the first one, hated the second one with an all out passion. If you ask me, what they need to do is make a a prequel type story (not a prequel, more like a sequel with back story) about Agent A and the whole thing with K.

Or was this year's Batman April Fool's joke rather lazy compared to recent years? (the Jake Gyllenhaal as Spider-Man gag was priceless)

This is probably the greatest news ever. MIB is one of my favorite movies. MIIB was alright. Definitely not as good. But if Kay and Jay are both back, this will be one of my most anticipated films in a long time.

If they're making a Ghostbusters 3, I figure why not? Both franchises had sequels that didn't live up to expectations. I loved MiB, and both stars are pretty red-hot, so if they opted to get together again it could be pretty good, or just as bad as #2.

I thought april fools jokes were suppose to be funny! I loved MIB 1 and 2 and most of what Barry sonnenfeld has done. (I know wild wild west sucked, as well as some others)

MiB2 is the absolute perfect example of what not to do in a sequel. They took everything that worked in the first film and did the EXACT same thing, not worrying if it made any sense or not, forgetting the fact that originality and the element of surprise counted for a lot of the success the first time around.



I'd be interested if neither Smith or Jones were involved and replace...

and finally, as he starts screaming back at his family to quiet down, a GIANT ALIEN BUG slams into the windshield and it cuts to black:

I recently got MIB on blu-ray for 14.99 (what a steal!) and I really forgot how clever, smart, and funny this movie was. TLJ and Will Smith have excellent chemistry. The second one didn't work because they reversed roles and it wasn't half as funny.



However, if they can go back to their roots I would def. be down for a third.
