Michael Bay listened to the internet and has now cast Mark Wahlberg in Transformers 4. Also, a new logo!

I guess Michael Bay does feel the vibration.

After dancing around the Mark Wahlberg rumor for TRANSFORMERS 4, it looks like he's decided to listen to the internet. Bay posted the news on his site with this comment:

�Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on �Pain and Gain� and I�m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers� legacy."

I really like Wahlberg, so I can't say that this news has turned me off. It might sound a little sexist toward my own gender, but I'm glad that they aren't doing the female lead for the series. I'm sure whoever he chose would be a model who could wear a thong accurately and pout her lips on cue.

There were no other details from Bay. He did include a new logo for the fans to enjoy/hate. The film will begin shooting next Spring. Also, I had to add Paul's fan created TF4 poster for celebratory purposes.

Honestly I feel bad for him. I'm guessing someone either has pictures of him doing something stupid or a bigger dump truck was invented and used to carry an alarming amount of money to him.

Money Trees do exist, thy name is Transformers.

The Transformers movies suck...but with a worldwide gross somewhere in the vicinity of 2.8 BILLION DOLLARS...he is less like the unwanted house guest and more like Rich Uncle MoneyBags, who, while annoying, always showers you with money.

Michael Bay doing TF 4 is like the house guest that doesn't know when to leave. Same thing happened to Jerry Bruckheimer and Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Their just over staying their welcome on these franchises by doing a 4th one. Makes me Glad Raimi didn't do Spider Man 4.

Not that i'm optimistic but this could work becuase when Mark doesn't want to take himself seriously, he's still good. Not to say he's bland because in The Happening he was the only actor to walk away with his career intact.

I have no doubt he'll survive the 4th installment and still get roles.

can we just get the guys who wrote the war/fall of cybertron games to write and design all the characters for this? can we get a megatron or galvatron with a cannon ATTACHED to his arm. and i am ok with the generation one style bots...they would look awesome in high def detail and not look like a film full of insecticons...and [link]

dude only hears things he wants too..
Why didn't Bay listen to the internet when we said leave the Transformers franchise after T2 & T3 ??? Or when we said don't mess up TMNT and he tells us to shut up a day later.

i dont think he actually "listened to the internet". if whalberg was a supporting character, maybe. but he's gonna be the main character. the inital rumor were probably true and michael bay just lied to everyone when he denied it. now he's covering it with "oh, we just decided to do what everyone suspected us of doing, even though we originally we had no intention of doing it". yeah, right.
