Michael Fassbender lands the role of an android in Ridley Scott's Prometheus

01.26.2011

Enter this under news that is awesome.

Michael Fassbender has been cast opposite Noomi Rapace in Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS. You have to admit this is good casting news despite your feelings on the ALIEN-prequel morphing into PROMETHEUS. To be honest, I'm pretty excited to see this project.

To make it even better, Fassbender has been cast as an android. He was offered the role last year when it was still the ALIEN prequel. The story is still a big mystery and all we know is that it will have "alien DNA".

The film has also changed release dates from March 2012 to June 8th, 2012.

No arguments here! And hey, he might get a chance to wear another oversized helmet.

Amazing performance by Fassbender.

Prometheus sounds more intriguing by the day...

I'm more excited about Prometheus than I have been about a Ridley Scott movie in a long time. Looking forward to it.

Blade Runner is not only my favorite Scott movie, it's one of my favorite movies, period.

I'd really like to know more about the plot of this... now that it's NOT an ALIEN film...

Fassbender is a good actor!

He'll do a great job I'm sure. Maybe he'll be like Bishop from the original series. As for the tidbit, I'd have to say Black Hawk Down or Blade Runner.

Cool, I knew Fassbender had the chops after seeing "Lake Eden" and "Inglourious Basterds".

Regarding the tidbit: Gladiator, though I also have a soft spot for Black Rain.

Great cast!

As for the tidbit thats a tough one. Gladiator is an obvious choice since it is really amazing but then theres the classic Alien and you can forget Blade Runner or Kingdom of Heaven (Directors Cut). Id say Gladiator for me.

My question is now that its changed from an Alien prequel, will they still have that little plot detail where the alien forces 2 men to "mate"?

Good casting. Fassbender seems to be blowing up.

As for favorite Ridley Scott film, definitely Kingdom of Heaven (the Director's cut).
