When Callum Lynch explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar and gains the skills of a Master Assassin, he discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society. How about that?! Michael Fassbender is forced into servitude by Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons in order to find the almighty MacGuffin and put an end to . . . something. In any case, it's good plot fodder to send Fassbender off on some ass-kicking missions, and you can get a glimpse of that with the latest trailer!

For as much as I enjoy the concept of ASSASSIN'S CREED, I would've liked the movie to stray from its video game roots. The story is exactly that; conjured up by a development team in order to give some purpose for the player to run around and jump all over the place. The movie iteration looks to take those beats from the game in lieu of offering up something more compelling. But what do I know? I've only made it through the first two games SO FAR. In any case, the movie will at least be pretty, so let's see how it does when it hits later this month!

ASSASSIN'S CREED hits theaters on December 21, 2016.
