Michael Keaton in early talks to join Spider-Man: Homecoming as a villain

I'm going to have to start believing in Harvey Dent again. Aaron Eckhart's version in THE DARK KNIGHT had it right. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Don't believe me? Ask Michael Keaton how true it is with word making the rounds that the former Batman is in early talks to come aboard SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING as a villain.

From Batman to bad guy? Bet you didn't see that one coming.

Neither Sony nor Marvel have commented on these developments, which should come as no surprise… However, it makes you wonder if some lips became loose with earlier reports that the character of Vulture would somehow be involved in the solo Spidey movie. Is Vulture the role that Keaton is in discussions to play? It would make sense, and this may be one of those cases where the smoke actually lit the fire of information getting out, which isn't exactly how fire works, but go with me on this wild analogy anyway.

Keaton has always done fantastic work, but with BIRDMAN and SPOTLIGHT bringing the actor back into the spotlight the last few years, it's awesome to think of Michael Keaton squaring off against your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man right smack in the middle of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ooohh, boy… That gave me chills just typing it.

Spider-Man can be seen joining the MCU in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR on May 6, but you'll have to wait until July 7, 2017 for SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING to land your way.
