Michael Shannon should not have messed with Ray Liotta in the second trailer for The Iceman

There’s nothing I love more than a good, true mobster story. I feel like good quality films on these stories are not made often enough. The lives that these men lived are utterly fascinating studies in character and motive. They’re also very entertaining.

Ariel Vromen‘s THE ICEMAN looks more intriguing than entertaining. I don’t expect to crack any smiles watching Ray Liotta in this role, nor will I get the same from Michael Shannon, who looks sinister as all hell in this. The second trailer for the film reveals quite a bit more than the initial one. It shows how dark the film will be, as indicated by Chris Bumbray in his review from TIFF. I agree with the statement that Bumbray made about Michael Shannon, he is truly one of the most intriguing actors to come along in awhile. If you need any more evidence, just check out any of his previous roles.

Synopsis: Inspired by actual events, The Iceman follows notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski (Academy Award® nominee Michael Shannon) from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men. Appearing to be living the American dream as a devoted husband and father; in reality Kuklinski was a ruthless killer-for-hire. When finally arrested in 1986, neither his wife nor daughters have any clue about his real profession.
