Mike White is in the lead for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

The race to find a director for PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES is becoming an interesting one.

With David O’Russell off the project, Lionsgate and Richard Kelley’s company Darko Entertainment have had a hard time choosing who would be the best fit to direct.

The Los Angeles Times got some inside information on the top contender for the job. The shortlist of directors consists of: Mike Newell, Neil Marshall, David Slade, Phil Lord & Chris Miller, Jonathan Demme, Mike White, and Matt Reeves. So who is the guy that they think might be the best to helm? Mike White.

White isn’t an experience director, but the choice has reason. They say that as a writer (ORANGE COUNTY and SCHOOL OF ROCK) and director (YEAR OF THE DOG) known for black comedy, White is seen as one of the few candidates that will be able to handle the many tones of the film.

You know who probably won’t be helming? LET ME IN’s Matt Reeves. There was no reason given as to why.

Personally, I’d like to see Phil Lord & Chris Miller get it.
