Miles Teller hints that the classic costumes will appear in Fantastic Four

The reaction to the trailer for Josh Trank‘s FANTASTIC FOUR was decidedly divisive. If the trailer did anything, it swayed those worried about the film either firmly into a hate or love perspective on the movie. Personally, I liked the way the trailer looked and it did exactly what it was supposed to do and intrigued me further about the project. After the pair of Tim Story directed FANTASTIC FOUR films, it seemed apparent that fans didn’t want a version faithful to the comics, so here is a new vision on the first family of Marvel.

One noticeable difference in the trailer were the costumes worn by the superhero team which do not look very heroic. But, star Miles Teller hinted in an interview with ScreenCrush that we may be seeing the classic comic book outfits before the credits roll.

These are the beta versions of the costumes, which is great […] But, yeah it would be very odd if the Fantastic Four didn’t don the traditional costumes. You’ve got to. There is some servicing there. You’ve got to give that to the fans. That’s what it’s all about.

With the sequel to FANTASTIC FOUR already greenlit for a June 9, 2017 release, it seems very likely that if we see the costumes adorned with the encircled numeral four it would not be until the end of the film. As an origin movie, FANTASTIC FOUR seems like it will be about embracing the team dynamic as well as each hero’s individual powers. But, I am sure even comic book purists may not be happy about this darker and more realistic take on the comic book switching back to the traditional look of their outfits. I guess you cannot please everybody.

FANTASTIC FOUR hits theaters on August 7th.
