Miles Teller says none of the cast have seen the final cut of Fantastic Four

08.04.2015

While some of the early reactions to FANTASTIC FOUR may give hope to those who don't think the comments are from studio plants, but there are four important people who have yet to see the finished film: the stars.

In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Miles Teller and Kate Mara confirmed that they have not seen the film. Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell have not seen it either, but Teller went on to elaborate on why he doesn't feel too concerned about the lack of critical reception leading to the film's release this weekend.

Rarely are films of this size critically well received," he said. "This is not a movie we're going to go on (review website) Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90 per cent. We did try to do something more than soulless, popcorn action. We tried to make something coming from a more dramatic standpoint so we're hoping that people enjoy it and recognise that we're trying to do something original."

The cast has consistently said that FANTASTIC FOUR is a departure from the other superhero films released over the last fifteen years. While I think there have been several critically lauded comic book movies, especially in recent years, I don't think there is anything wrong with trying something outside of the box. Whether the fans agree and praise FANTASTIC FOUR or despise it, there is nothing wrong with attempting something different, even if it deviates from the source material.

FANTASTIC FOUR opens this Friday.

They wanted to do something original.
Should have called it something else then.

Please flop and go back to Marvel. Absolutely nothing about this film has looked and/or sounded 'fantastic' and every new piece of info that comes out before release only proves that this film will most likely be a piece of cinema trash.

None of the cast has seen the final cut? Well at least they finally have something in common with the fans of Fantastic Four, we won't be seeing it either.

So far the reviews haven't been kind. Yahoo review isn't good, so is Rotten Tomatoes.

So far this film is as highly rated as Pixels (but not as good as 50 Shades Of Grey)......

So Teller is proudly telling you it's going to be lowly rated?

Well, at least he's right about that.....

Watched it earlier tonight in Wales.
Its not what you expect, that's for sure. And there's like a stupid 'one year later' thing half way through. Very bizarre indeed. Still an entertaining 100 minutes I suppose.

To be fair...

The original article was posted 3 days ago. They've been hitting the press pretty hard and when they were interviewed on the Today Show yesterday Carson Daly said he had seen it (which I suppose could've been B.S.) So who knows maybe they've seen it now. That being said, it doesn't matter. Everything we hear about it the closer we've gotten makes it sound like more of a disaster than everyone thought. Okay fine, AS MUCH of a disaster as everyone's thought.

Here's some real insight into the film:

Scroll down to the talkbacks (comments) and look for posts by BigJohnConnor. All his posts have TONS of insight and details and, frankly, the movie sounds like shit (even if you don't consider the FF angle)!

Jesus christ I have never heard of such a piss poor job of promoting a movie in all my life. This movie seriously deserves to bomb & be ridiculed by us fans.

It's common for people to make these mistakes when talking about reviews. That makes it clear that they don't really read a lot of them. But Miles knows Rotten Tomatoes and still makes this mistake?! Come on! Like TheDude1989 said, many blockbusters (not just based on comics) have good reviews. The lowest-rated MCU movies are THE INCREDIBLE HULK and THOR 2, which got 60-something%.

What is he talking about?

Many comic book blockbusters get top critical reviews these days.
