Moneyball finds two more to join Pitt

Philip Seymour Hoffman is in talks to join Brad Pitt in MONEYBALL, a role that would reunite him with CAPOTE director Bennett Miller. Hoffman and Robin Wright Penn are in talks to join the film, which has already cast Pitt and Jonah Hill. The film was somewhat infamously set to begin filming last year before Sony abruptly pulled the plug on Steven Soderbergh's vision. The script and Pitt's co-star Demetri Martin were scrapped but the studio was able to keep Pitt aboard with a polished script by Aaron Sorkin.

The film will star Pitt as Oakland A's manager Billy Beane who, with the help of a number-crunching assistant (Hill), builds a successful team with the lowest payroll in the league. Hoffman would play the team's manager, Art Howe (resemblance?) while Penn would play Bean's ex-wife.

Filming on MONEYBALL is expected to begin this July in Los Angeles.

Extra Tidbit: Before you ask, I have no idea who that girl in the picture is.
