Morris Chestnut talks the possibility of playing Black Panther

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Since we’re already talking Marvel characters this afternoon, I thought that you guys wouldn’t mind some BLACK PANTHER chatter.

We do know that a film on T’Challa is being developed but news has been rather slow and not forthcoming. There’s been much speculation on who would fit the role from Djimon Hounsou to Chadwick Boseman (42).

During some press for KICK-ASS 2, iamRogue spoke with star Morris Chestnut about the constant rumor of his name surrounding the Marvel project:

“Obviously I would love to play that part, but Marvel and that studio they’re a mega-machine, and they have the people in mind that they want to do. Maybe If I had gotten to kick ass in Kick-Ass they would consider me, but you never know what’s going to happen. Stranger things have happened in this industry.”

Last we heard was the news that Boseman was being considered. At this point, the majority of the names that we’ve heard are good in my book though we may want to consider someone younger if this turns into a franchise deal. I hope that we get it sooner than later because Black Panther is a great character deserving of some screen time.
