Hoo-sha, and cue the sneaky thief theme music! The Disney Channel has announced that they're developing a live-action film version of their highly-adored cartoon series KIM POSSIBLE!

With the channel already searching far and wide for the perfect actors to represent Kim and her wacky friends on the live-action screen, the project will tell the tale of a seemingly typical high school girl who saves the world from ne'er do wells with the help of her sidekick Ron Stoppable, his oddly-adorable naked mole rat Rufus, and computer genius Wade. The highly-celebrated animated series that ran for a total of 87 episodes on the Disney Channel from June 7, 2002 – September 7, 2007.

Additionally, the Emmy-nominated series has already produced two animated Disney Channel movies, KIM POSSIBLE MOVIE: SO THE DRAMA and KIM POSSIBLE: A STITCH IN TIME. Christy Carlson-Romano voiced Kim in the series, while Will Friedle of BOY MEETS WORLD and BATMAN BEYOND fame lent his vocal stylings to the Ron Stoppable character.

Series creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley will write the script along with Josh Cagan. Furthermore, McCorkle and Schooley will also executive produce with Zanne Devine. The movie is also set to be co-directed and co-produced by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky.

Adam Bonnett, executive vice president, original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide says “Mark and Bob created an enduring character and kids all over the world found a friend in her, an average girl who just happens to spend her off-school hours thwarting evil villains.” Bonnett then added, "Although Kim Possible ‘can do anything,’ kids and tweens found that this animated redhead was just like them. As we embark on the fun challenge of making Kim and Ron fully dimensional, I’m thrilled to be working again with Mark and Bob and to welcome the addition of a dynamic creative team – Josh, Zanne, Adam and Zach – into a world where anything is indeed possible.”

Hicka-bicka-boo! It sounds like the live-action version of KIM POSSIBLE is in the right hands, and with any luck, we could be looking forward to a fun and family-friendly action caper courtesy of Kim and her ragtag band of quirky companions. While the film might not be for everyone, KIM POSSIBLE fans are bound to be excited at the thought of one of their favorite animated characters coming to life in the real world for the very first time.
