The Scream TV series that had many questioning why it was even conceived is officially going ahead with a 10-episode order at MTV. Just last week we reported that Ghost Face may not even appear in the show because as it stands right now, the mask can't be used. Dimension TV is producing, with Harvey and Bob Weinstein set to executive produce, and original SCREAM franchise director Wes Craven will serve as one of its producers.

Next month Wes Craven’s A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET will celebrate its 30th anniversary. While it's perhaps Craven’s greatest work, it is also arguably one of the greatest American horror movies of all time. Nearly a decade after Nightmare he gave us SCREAM, another landmark film that certainly broke a lot of the rules when it came to horror movies, thus changing the genre for the better if you ask me.

I can’t say I'm interested in this show one way or another; mind you, the last show I had low expectations for only to find myself sorry that I did was the great Bates Motel. We don’t know much about the Scream series right now so I look forward to eventually hearing how it's being developed. It certainly has the talent behind the scenes to pull off something great; let’s hope it lives up to the SCREAM name.

Scream is set to debut in October 2015 on MTV. If there's no Ghost Face, what do you think they're going to do?
