Muschietti finishes casting Locke & Key siblings, adds Danny Glover

Danny Glover

Director Andy Muschietti's Hulu pilot based on Joe Hill's IDW comic book Locke & Key just took a major step forward on its journey toward production. The series will center on three young siblings, and Muschietti has now cast actors in all three of those roles. Joining Jackson Robert Scott and Megan Charpentier (both of whom were in Muschietti's IT) as Bode and Kinsey Locke is newcomer Jack Mulhern as the eldest Locke sibling, Tyler Locke.

The story of Locke & Key begins with the gruesome murder of the siblings' father, after which they

move to their ancestral home in Maine with their mother Nina only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.

Frances O'Connor will be playing Nina, with Nate Corddry as Duncan Locke, the uncle of the Locke children.

Another new addition to the pilot's cast is Danny Glover, who we just saw in the BUCKOUT ROAD trailer earlier today. In Locke & Key, Glover will playing Joe Ridgeway, an eccentric English teacher at the local school, Matheson Academy. Ridgeway becomes a mentor to the children and a friend to Nina… and he knows some of the secrets Rendell Locke was keeping from his wife and kids.

I haven't read the comic book, so I don't know those secrets myself. I'm spoiler free on this one, and I look forward to checking the series out.

Hill developed Locke & Key for Hulu with Bates Motel's Carlton Cuse, who will be serving as showrunner.
