Mystique ruins Bolivar Trask meeting in new clip from X-Men: DOFP

May. 1, 2014by:

Ready for another clip from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST? Yahoo! has a new clip from the Bryan Singer film, featuring Peter Dinklage's Bolivar Trask and Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique. The clip starts with Bolivar Trask in a meeting explaining how his mutant hunting technology works, and ends with most of the people in the room down for the count. If you want to find out how things escalated so quickly, you're going to have to check out the new clip.

"With this weapon, there will be no human collateral damage."

Really digging Mystique transforming while kicking some serious ass. Very cool looking in my opinion, but excellent fight scenes and awesome visuals won't matter if the rest of the film is weak. I don't think X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will be terrible, however just because the trailers and clips have been great doesn't mean the film will be fantastic. Anyone who loved the trailers for MAN OF STEEL, but were disappointed with the movie knows what I'm talking about.

Bryan Singer's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST starring James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Omar Sy, Lucas Till and Evan Peters will be released on May 23rd, 2014.

man of steel was awesome

Seriously I loved man of steel. The best take on superman ever and I honestly don't see what people didn't like about it

Lots, and lots, and LOTS of collateral damage. And nary a soul saved not named Lois Lane.

MoS was Transformers-tier. All explosion and fight scenes, no character development or sensible plotting.

A lot of it I loved, and a lot of it I hated. Agree what HoyleHaw and Vanity Ruins pointed out.

Collateral damage is normal when two super beings fight , and didn't Superman save 7 billion souls? what movie did you watch? next movie I think Zack Nyder needs to put a scene where Superman saves a kitty from a tree so peolpe stop complaining

My problem was not with the collateral damage, but rather with the story structure. The use of flashbacks felt too contrived, as if David Goyer was trying to force Nolan's storytelling approach into the film instead of letting it flow naturally. It wasn't necessary, and it didn't work to enhance the film in any way.

Also, it's harder to care about the action when it reaches a larger scale. The collateral damage wasn't the concern for me, but rather a desensitization to all the violence.

Also, it's harder to care about the action when it reaches a larger scale. The collateral damage wasn't the concern for me, but rather a desensitization to all the violence. It became frivolous and worthless spectacle, dragging on too long and becoming less engaging, which made it even less impactful considering the failures of the story to develop the characters. In that way, the action was as style-over-substance as anything Zack Snyder had done previously, and no better than Michael Bay's Transformer films.

To me, it needed a rewrite to allow some form of depth to develop organically through the story and not in a forced manner. That is why I didn't like it.

I can't wait for this one.

The more I see clips, the more excited I get. I have more faith in Bryan Singer than I do in Zack Snyder or Mark Webb.
