This is relatively old news (at least in internets time where five minutes is equivalent to about six months) but it seems the Amelia Earhart biopic starring strong-jawed hottie Hilary Swank as the famous aviator, which we told you about a little while ago will, according to Moviehole, be directed by Mira Nair. THE NAMESAKE director stepped in after Phil Noyce (CATCH A FIRE) bowed out before Christmas. The film of course relates the life of the aforementioned American aviation pioneer, author and women’s rights advocate who disappeared over the central Pacific during an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight around the globe in 1937. Nair will next be directing a segment of the anthology film NEW YORK, I LOVE YOU, which is a sequel of sorts to the anthology film PARIS, I LOVE YOU, while The Swankster can next be seen in the romantic comedy P.S: I LOVE YOU.
