The worst lies are the ones we tell ourselves…

I’m not going to lie, the tagline for GYPSY posted above hit me pretty hard, just now. Let it be said that the truth will always be more interesting than a lie, for dishonesty is a fool’s game where the liar will always lose in the end.

Whoa! Alright there, Steve, let’s not start the day off being too grim, now. Instead, let’s talk about how Netflix debuted a round of first look imgaes for its upcoming ten-part psychological thriller, GYPSY. Starring Naomi Watts, GYPSY follows Jean Halloway (Watts), a Manhattan therapist with a seemingly picturesque life who begins to develop intimate and illicit relationships with the people in her patients’ lives. As the borders of Jean’s professional life and personal fantasies become blurred, she descends into a world where the forces of desire and reality are disastrously at odds.

Written by Hollywood newcomber, Lisa Rubin, and directed by Sam Taylor Johnson (FIFTY SHADES OF GREY), Victoria Mahoney, and Coky Giedroyc, this scandelous series also stars Billy Crudup (SPOTLIGHT) as Jean’s husband Michael Halloway, Sophie Cookson (KINGSMAN) as Sydney, Lucy Boynton (MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS) as Jean’s patient Allison, and Karl Glusman (NOCTURNAL ANIMALS) and Jean’s patient Sam.

Here’s those images that I’d mentioned earlier:

GYPSY is expected to hit Netflix some time in 2017.
