Nathan Fillion wants your help to land the Nathan Drake role in Uncharted

There are few actors today with greater fanboy followings than Nathan Fillion. After being immortalized in Joss Whedon's sadly killed Firefly, he's starred in Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog, and more recently Castle. But now a role has come along to make him jump out of his chair and run toward it.

David O. Russell recently returned to a film adaptation of UNCHARTED, an excellent PS3 game, and Fillion wants the lead so badly that upon learning the news, he sent out this Tweet to his 650,000 followers:

If ever there was a Twitter campaign, let this be it. Rise, ye Browncoats. Rise, ye Castillions. RISE!

It's a perfect role for him, it truly is. In addition to sharing a first name, Fillion has the charm, humor and rogue-ish-ness (totally a word) that would make him the ideal candidate for the Drake part. I'm writing this post for all to see to hopefully contribute to this movement, though I have to say I'm concerned about the possibility of it coming to fruition. O. Russell already seems ambivalent about the project, and you have to wonder if he or the studio would trust a name that the general public might not know in a film like this, whether in fact he's a fit for the role or not.

Contrastingly, if they did take a chance on Fillion, and they were able to craft the world's first and only truly good video game adaptation, the film could actually be a huge breakout vehicle for him, and he might not lose roles like Green Lantern to Ryan Reynolds.

Does anyone think this is a BAD idea? There's always someone...

Extra Tidbit: Fillion is a huge video game fan, and has voiced characters in the last three Halo games.
