Neil Marshall says he would love to direct a Black Widow movie

If a Black Widow movie is going to happen, there's one person who would definitely be up for directing the Marvel film: Neil Marshall. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Marshall was asked if he would want to direct BLACK WIDOW, after talking about how he's interested in movies with characters like Scarlett Johansson's in LUCY.

I would love to do a Black Widow movie. That’s perfect, I would love to do that. That character is really interesting, she doesn’t have any superpowers, she just has extraordinary skills, and the world that she comes from, being this ex-K.G.B. assassin, I find that really fascinating, yeah.

I think Neil Marshall would be great for a Black Widow flick, but obviously this is just him saying he'd like to direct the movie. And although Marvel might be interested in doing a solo film, it appears they're a little busy right now developing movies for their other comic book characters. Maybe once Marvel has decided to move forward with the project, they'll give Marshall a call. Do you think the DOOMSDAY and Game of Thrones director is a good fit for BLACK WIDOW?

Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow can be seen next in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON on May 1, 2015.
